I have lost my PAN card and Also forgot my PAN card number. What’s the procedure for applying again?

Losing your PAN (Permanent Account Number) card can be a stressful situation, especially when you’ve also forgotten your PAN number. Retrieve Your PAN Number :

If you’ve forgotten your PAN number, don’t worry; you can easily retrieve it.

  1. Visit the official website of the Income Tax Department of India: https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “Know Your PAN” option. It’s usually located under the “Quick Links” section on the homepage.
  3. You’ll be redirected to a new page where you need to fill in your personal details such as your name, date of birth, and mobile number.
  4. After filling in the required information, click on the “Submit” button.
  5. You’ll receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP on the website.
  6. Once verified, you’ll receive your PAN number via SMS and email.

Reapply for a Lost PAN Card :

After retrieving your PAN number, you can proceed to reapply for a lost PAN card.

  1. Visit the official UTIITSL or NSDL website, which are authorized service providers for PAN card applications.
  2. Choose the “Reprint of PAN Card” option on the respective website.
  3. Fill out the application form with your personal details, including your PAN number.
  4. You’ll need to upload a recent passport-sized photograph and a copy of your Aadhar card as identity proof.

Enter your acknowledgment number, and you’ll receive real-time updates on your application’s progress.

Receive Your New PAN Card :

Once your application is processed and approved, you’ll receive your new PAN card at the mailing address you provided in the application. The PAN card is typically dispatched within a few weeks. You can also track the delivery status using the tracking number provided by the courier service.
